New Coffee Shop Opening in Former Caribou Location Thursday
Have you ever tried Peet's Coffee & Tea? The coffee shop is opening this week in Solon.
Beans will be brewing again at the former Caribou Coffee Solon location on Kruse Drive.
Peet's Coffee & Tea is scheduled to open on Aug. 1 at 6 a.m. During the grand opening Thursday, the first 25 customers will receive a Peet's tumbler and 30 free large cups of coffee.
Normal business hours are:
- Monday-Thursday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday: 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sunday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
In December of 2012, German conglomerate Joh. A. Benckiser Group said it would be buying the publicly traded Minneapolis-based Caribou Coffee Co. for $340 million. Earlier that year, it bought Peet’s Coffee & Tea for $1 billion.
Peet’s Coffee was founded in Berkeley, CA, and is now headquartered in Emeryville, CA. The bulk of its stores are located in California. The company also maintains stores in Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Oregon and Washington state.
