ReplyGood question! Its definitely an eyesore. Hey, if you're still looking for suggestions, how about one of those "payday loan" places. I don't think we have one of them yet.

ReplyIt would be an absolute crying shame if this property went to developers. A public park would be nice though.

ReplyThe original Antonio's in Parma had excellent pizza and house salads. We went there a lot when we lived on the westside. I imagine the store in Solon Village will be one of their "Express" outlets. Mom and Pop did it better, but its still a decent pizza.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but in the case of the drug dealer, the dealer is voluntarily engaging in a criminal act and doing the soliciting either actively or by implication. The bartender was engaged in some other activity, say tending bar and didn’t see the “patron” exiting the establishment. I should add that my comments are purely academic since I was not there.

I have to go along with Derek, at least to some extent. If not entrapment, then darn close. The liquor agent intentionally violated his own regulation in an effort to fabricate a violation. I'm not sure how the Annex is staffed, but I'm sure they don't have a large one. What if the bartender was occupied with a customer? Would a regular patron put the bar owner in jeopardy that way? Would anyone at the bar even care if someone took a beer outside so they could catch a smoke? If it was in fact the inspector that took the beer outside, then it was a cheap shot.

ReplyI don't think everyone understands the reasoning behind taking the squad to the grocery store, or taking the pumper with full crew out to flush hydrants, but its as you said.

ReplyNot only that, but it has always been my understanding that they paid for their meals out of their own pocket. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who runs into a burning building to put out a fire while everyone else is running out, can eat whatever they want. And, some of them are pretty darned good cooks to boot!
Bon Appetit!

Jimm, the microchip is a passive device. No batteries. It only emits a short and very weak burst when its "pinged" by the hand held scanner. You probably absorb more RF radiation just walking around the house than the dog is exposed to from the microchip. While the chip is encased in glass, I can't speak to whatever substance they might put on the outside to keep it from migrating and what the side effects might be. While conditions may have improved recently, our rescue group started using microchips for our dog when they were first introduced. We had a lot of issues with none compatable scanners and bad data bases. Another thing to consider is that while they may scan a dog for a chip, dog wardens are not required to check for microchips when they pick up a stray. If its done at all, its done as a courtesy.
