Twinsburg Tigers Headed To Final Four After 54-37 Win Over Solon

Malina Howard leads all scorers with 28 points.

In the end, Malina Howard did what she always does: She strapped the Twinsburg Tigers to her back and lead her team to victory. Howard scored 28 points to led the Tigers back to Columbus after a 54-37 victory over the Solon Comets Friday in the Canton Regional Final. Twinsburg, the defending state champs, competes for their second state championship next week. "This is a really special senior class," said Twinsburg Coach Julie Solis. "They've had their sights on this for a long time." Solon played tough, keeping it close, 22-20, at halftime. Solon Wrestler Justin Kresevic Conquers Injury To Reach State Tournament

Senior wrestler Kresevic will compete in the state wrestling tournament, which begins Thursday, a year after missing the entire season with a knee injury.

This time last year, Justin Kresevic wasn't a dominant wrestler headed to the state tournament. He didn't have a 39-6 record. He didn't come in second in his weight class in one of the toughest district tournaments in Ohio. Last year, Kresevic didn't compete on the mat for the Solon Comets. He was recovering from knee surgery, and working hard to get where he is today. "I came out a stronger person all around, not just as an athlete," Kresevic said. "You realize your opportunities can be taken away at any time, so every time I step out on the field or the mat I realize it can be my last." Kresevic's comeback story in his senior season is an inspiring story in a Solon wrestling season filled with triumph. Kresevic joins juniors Brandon …
