A Lake Effect Snow Warning begins at 6 a.m. Thursday for much of Northeast Ohio, including Cuyahoga County.
The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning beginning Thursday morning and extending through Saturday morning. A Lake Effect Watch had been called for, but was upgraded to a warning at 4 p.m. Wednesday. A cold front will move into the area tonight, allowing an arctic airmass to settle over Northeast Ohio. Forecasters say inland snow accumulations could reach six inches to a foot, with up to two feet of accumulation possible in areas closest to the lake. Basically, the closer to the lake, the greater chance for higher snow accumulations. Drive safe and stay warm!

The National Weather Service issues a wind chill advisory; snow warning continues
Extremely cold weather is settling into Northeast Ohio and staying for several days. The National Weather Service on Tuesday night issued a Winter Weather Message warning of heavy snow, gusty winds and extremely cold temperatures. Through Wednesday morning, accumulations of four to eight inches are expected, with temperatures ranging from 2 degrees to 10 degrees above zero. Winds are from the west at 10 mph to 15 mph, with gusts of up to 25 mph. Wind chill is expected to drop to 15 below zero. The National Weather Service warns that driving may be very slow, impossible or hazardous with highly variable road conditions, especially along the lakeshore. The National Weather Service has issued a lake effect snow warning for the eastern suburbs of Cleveland -- including Solon. Meteorologists say the region could receive as much as 10 to 20 inches of snow between Monday and Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. The snow will be caused by an arctic airmass that is moving into the area. The first lake effect snow event of the season could drop as much as seven inches of snow on Northeast Ohio overnight and Saturday.
Get ready for the first lake effect snow of the season. The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Advisory for most of Northeast Ohio. Forecasters expect about 1 to 3 inches of snow to fall overnight Friday and another 2 to 4 inches on Saturday, according to the forecast. Along with the snow, forecasters expect gusty winds, low visibility and falling temperatures into the low 30s or upper 20s. The advisory is set to expire at about 7 a.m. Sunday. A major wintery front is expected to bring lake effect snow to the Northeast Ohio early Monday and into Tuesday.
A wintery front could bring as much as six to 12 inches of snow and heavy wind gusts to Northeast Ohio from early Monday into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. A lake-effect snow warning is in effect starting 4 a.m. Monday throgh 4 p.m. Tuesday. As much as three to five inches is expected to fall Monday with up to a foot of snow expected by Tuesday. Winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour are expected Monday, with gusts of up to 45 miles per hour closer to the lake. According to the weather service, temperatures are expected to fall into the 20s tonight as a low-pressure system, stretching from Great Lakes into Canada, moves into Ohio.
