The gift that scares people- Suspicious packages in the form of a Christmas presents created quite a stir at Theodore Roosevelt High School on Dec 11. High school administrators couldn't account for the packages, so they called Kent Police to make sure the packages weren't some kind of threat. K9 units responded and students, who were arriving for the start of school at about 7 a.m., were directed away from the school entrance. Police stopped 49-year-old Joseph Emrick around 3 a.m. on Nov. 4 after clocking his vehicle at 115 miles per hour on Interstate 480. He was weaving across the highway and still accelerating. According to the police report, Emrick told officers that he "regularly travels I-480 at speeds of 160 to 190 miles per hour." The list of items stolen from residents over a two-day span at Silver Meadows Apartments included laptops, HD TVs and other electronics that typically fill police reports. A box full of sex toys was also on that list. The Pure Romance toys accounted for $800 of the $3,000 worth of goods taken from the one of the apartments. Twinsburg Police pulled over 23-year-old Angelina Vinciguerra on Interstate 480 for littering, but immediately smelled marijuana coming from the car. Breaking in for $30 — A 60-year-old Cleveland Heights man was arrested for breaking in and vandalizing multiple businesses in the Cedar-Lee district. Police said Michael Moore smashed a window at The Stone Oven at 4:30 a.m. Aug 2 to get to the register. He got away with a grand total of $30. Moore is also accused of breaking into The Wine Spot. Police said the man admitted to huffing a 12-ounce can of Ultra Duster at 6:43 a.m. as he drove his 2012 Chevy Cruze down Bailey.
