A woman and her 3-year-old daughter are lucky to be alive after their car plunged from a bridge overpass and crashed onto SOM Center Road in September. The driver's daugher was unharmed. Bridge Crash Survivor Is Home From Hospital And Recovering

Katy Dardzinski, 33, is home from the hospital after she blacked out and her car plunged off of the side of U.S. 422 on Sept. 18

Solon resident Katy Dardzinski is home from the hosptial and recovering two-and-a-half weeks after her car plunged off the side of U.S. 422 and landed on SOM Center Raod. Dardzinski, who blacked out while driving on Sept. 18, said she doesn't know why she lost consciousness but she is glad she didn't hurt anyone. Her 3-year-old daughter was in the car with her at the time, but was strapped into a child seat. "I don't know why I blacked out while driving but am so incredibly thankful that I didn't hurt anyone, including my daughter," she said in a comment on Solon patch. She added: "It's truly a miracle that I didn't hit anyone on the road. I can handle any injuries that come my way but would have been devastated if anybody else was hurt. I…

Woman Who Survived Bridge Crash: 'I Am Blessed'

Katy Dardzinski, 33, the woman who survived when her car fell between the bridges over SOM Center Road, updates Solon patch on her condition.

Katy Dardzinski, the 33-year-old woman who survived when her car drove off of U.S. 422 and onto SOM Center Road, has updated Solon Patch readers on her condition. Posting a comment on the original story about the crash, Dardzinski said that she has a long road to recovery, but she is grateful to her rescuers and glad her 3-year-old daughter, who was in the car, is fine. Dardzinski wrote: I was the driver in this accident with my daughter. I'm happy to say my daughter is fine. I however had to have back surgery, received countless units of blood, fractured sternum, a broken foot & am in tremendous pain. I will be out of work for several months.
