Local law enforcement agencies say they are looking for drunken drivers this holiday weekend, so take steps to be safe.
Thanksgiving Eve may be the biggest drinking night of the year. The police know that too. So if you are going to be drinking this Black Wednesday -- or the rest of this holiday weekend -- be safe and don't drink and drive. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 17 people were killed in crashes last Thanksgiving weekend, and alcohol contributed to at least 30 percent of them. "We all share the responsibility of contributing to a safe holiday on Ohio roadways by obeying all traffic laws and never driving impaired," said Col. John Born, Patrol superintendent.
