Becca Hoffman, a stand-out relay racer for the Solon Comets swim team, will continue her education and swim career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Becca is a three-year varsity letter winner for the Comets. She was an Ohio High School state qualifier on relays both her junior and senior years. Her split times at states this year were 50 freestyle 24.2, the 100 freestyle 54.5 and the 100 butterfly 100.2. Her fastest swims were at the district championship with splits of 23.6 in the 50 freestyle and 53.05 in the 100 freestyle. "Becca is one of the best relay swimmers we have ever had in the Solon swim program," said swimming head coach Mike Davidson. "Becca has a tremendous competitive attitude. She is a great racer."

Diver Sivan Mills finished fifth and 11 swimmers recieved All-Ohio honors.
The Solon Comet swimmers and divers performed well at the State Meet this weekend. Four-time state qualifier, Sivan Mills, finished in 5th place at the Division 1 Girls OHSAA State Meet on Thursday. In swimming, six Solon girls and five boy swimmers earned All-Ohio in 8 events. Earning All-Ohio honors for the girl's team were: Anna Wong, Aurelia Sweeney, Allison Hoffman, Becca Hoffman, Jessica Jin and Halle Immormino. Earning all-state recognition for the boys were: Ryan Carson, Christopher Guo, Grant Pinchot, Patrick Tippen and Mark Lippert. Solon Divers Hit the Boards of the Canton Christmas Invitational while the Swimmers Competed in the Viking Invitational.
Editor's Note: The information in this post was provided by swimming/diving parent Estelle Mills. Solon High's swimmers and divers were in action this weekend and both performed well. The Solon High School Diving Team Headed down to Canton on Saturday December 15th to compete in the Christmas Invitational at the CT Branin Natatoruim in Canton. The Lady Comet Divers competed in morning followed by the Boys Diving Team in the afternoon. Sivan Mills of the Lady Comets finished in first place in field of 34 divers, 49 points ahead of her nearest competitor. The Lady Comets also finished with 2 other divers in the top ten. Solon High School Swim and Diving Team Ends Season with one medalist and five other top 16 (All-Ohio) finishes. At the Division I, Swimming and Diving state meet held this weekend in Canton, Solon's Sivan Mills was on the medal stand after finishing in 6th place in a very tight competition for the top few spots. Also on the girls side, the 200 free relay team of Anna Wong, Becca Hoffman, Alli Hoffman, and Kelsey McRill finished in 14th place and the 200 Medley Relay team of Wong, Becca Hoffman, McRill, and Dana Lautenschleger finished in 16th place. Several members of the Solon High Schools boys swim team were suspended from school and athletic competition for participating in a hazing incident on school property.
Several members of the Solon High School boys swim team were suspended from school and the team this week because of a hazing incident that occured on school property. Citing student confidentiality laws, school officials would not reveal what specifically happened during the hazing incident, the number of students involved and whether any of the students were appealing their punishments. School spokeswoman Tammy Strom said that the suspensions meted out to the students by high school administrators varied based on each student's level of involvement with the hazing. "The behavior leading to the discipline of these students is not acceptable at Solon High School," Strom said. Strom said that Solon Schools will not tolerate hazing and …
