Solon PTA Spring 2013 Budget Bin Begins Today

The giant semi-annual consignment sale will return today to Parkside Elementary School.

Madness for a good cause. That's one way to describe Solon Council of PTA's Spring Budget Bin Sale, a giant consignment sale that is scheduled to begin today, March 13, and run through March 19 at Parkside Elementary. Here's how it works: On March 13, hundreds of consignors will flock to Parkside's gym to put their goods -- everything you can imagine -- up for sale. If an item sells, the consignor gets half the proceeds and the other half goes to the PTA's Lois Gazeley Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for Solon High School seniors. Each year, the Solon Council of PTAs raises thousands of dollars for scholarships thanks to the Budget Bin. The sale, which begins 10 a.m. March 14, is a great bargain-hunting opportunity. Nearly …

Shoppers, Get Ready: Fall Budget Bin Is This Week

Solon Council of PTAs will hold its Fall Budget Bin this week at Parkside Elementary

Solon Council of PTAs will be holding its Fall Budget Bin Oct. 17 through Oct. 23 at the Parkside Elementary School Gymnasium, located at 6845 SOM Center Road in Solon. Budget Bin is a community consignment sale held twice a year, fall and spring, which raises money for the Lois Gazely Scholarship Fund. This fund awards scholarships to graduating seniors at Solon High School. Last year the council gave out 36 scholarships of $1000 to members of the class of 2012. Budget Bin is a bargain shopper’s paradise. Items offered include new and gently-used fall and winter clothing, shoes, toys, household items, electronics, baby items, holiday items, craft supplies, books, videos, music, sports equipment, bikes and much more. I went to this sale Friday morning. The parking lot was completely full and many vehicles were parked partially on the lawn causing ruts and damage to the grass. The checkout line was about 20 deep, It was very hard to move around and the merchandise was piled one on top of the other which made it hard to sort through the stuff.
