Four student-athletes signed letters of intention to play at colleges in Ohio, Oklahoma, New York and Arizona
Four Solon High School athletes decided on their collegiate destinations Wednesday and let family, friends and coaches witness part of the process. For National Letter of Intent Day, the students made their choices official by signing their letters in an assembly hosted in the atrium. Here are the athletes and where they will be attending college in 2013: "They've already won two state titles, and they both won 124 matches," Solon Wrestling coach Tony DiGiovani said. Solon girls gaining confidence after two big wins and a 10-2 record
The Solon Lady Comets basketball team is playing its best ball of the season of late as the Lady Comets are now 10-2 overall following huge victories over highly regarded Magnificat and state-ranked Gahanna Lincoln. What is most impressive is the fact that Solon has just three seniors on the roster and five underclassmen (including a pair of freshmen) are seeing plenty of playing time. "It took us a while to start getting after it on the defensive end of the floor and we have been playing unselfish basketball and those are two things that make for a great team," said third-year head coach Trish Kruse.
