Solon is a safe community, with low crime rates per capita and only a small number of violent crimes reported. The FBI recently released its annual report on crimes across the country in 2011, and Solon Patch has already taken a look at data for Solon that year. Now we're delving into the past. The FBI released its annual report of crime statistics for 2011, which includes breakdowns of city's across the country.
The FBI has released its annual report of crime statistics for 2011, which compiles the number of violent and property crimes in cities across the country. How did Solon do? According to the FBI numbers, which includes crimes reported to the FBI by local police departments for data purposes, Solon had 20 violent crimes reported last year and 217 property crimes in 2011. Overall, the FBI reports that both violent and property crime is down nationwide, the fifth year in a row there was a decrease. He's acting crazy: Solon officers responded to a Cannon Road home at 12:14 a.m. Wednesday after a woman reported that her live-in boyfriend was drunk and "acting crazy." Andrew J. Paul, 50, of Solon allegedly threw his girlfriend to the ground and threatened her. He was arrested for domestic violence and held without bond. He also faces drug paraphernalia charges. Weaving woman: Police arrested a Willoughby woman on June 2 for drunken driving after officers saw veering wildly on U.S. 422. Carol J. Wyand, 54, weaved into a lane approaching the Harper Road exit. The burglary of a home on Worlington Drive is being investigated by Solon Police.
A Solon family returned home at 9 p.m. on May 30 to find that someone had been in their home and went through their bedroom, according to Solon Police. A 42-year-old resident of a Worlington Drive home called police immediately ro report the burglary. The couple reported more than $5,000 worth of possessions stolen and said there was evidence that their bedroom closets and drawers had been ransacked, according to the police report. There's no sign of forced entry at the home. Solon detectives are investigating.
