Solon Boys Soccer Ties Mentor 0-0

Both teams flexed their muscles in their even match up with shots on goal, and back and forth attacking offensive attempts.

Editor's Note: Thanks to soccer parent Steve Rothenberg for the content of this post. The Solon Comets boys varsity soccer team had a 0-0 draw with the visiting Mentor Cardinals on Monday night. Both teams flexed their muscles in their even match up with shots on goal, and back and forth attacking offensive attempts. The closest either team came to scoring was late in the first half when sophomore Johnny King broke free and crossed a ball to a wide open Leo Held, however the Mentor goalie made a fingernail save to stop the ball before it reached Leo, who would have had an uncontested goal. Comet senior goalie Jacob Altstadt saved everything that came his way. Their record now stands at 6-1-4. Next up is the annual Comet vs. Comet matchup …

Editor's Note: Thanks to Solon Soccer parent Steve Rothenberg for providing the article and photos. The Solon Comets boys’ soccer team travelled South the take on state ranked Medina Bees on Tuesday night and clawed their way back to earn a 1-1 tie. With few shots on goal by either team in the opening forty minutes, the half ended scoreless. In the second half, just as the sky opened up and drenched the stadium with rain, Medina scored first about 7 minutes in. About halfway through the second half, the Comets drew a free kick. Senior defender Foster King lofted the ball into the center of the goalie box where Junior Scotty Welker was waiting with his back to the goal to put a header to the left of the goalie for an equalizing score. Editor's Note: Thanks to soccer parent Steve Rothenberg for providing the article and pictures. The Solon boy’s soccer team picked up two wins last week against Normady and Westlake.   On Tuesday night where the rain threatened to wash the games out, Mother Nature complied and let the games play on as the host Solon boys’ soccer teams both scored three goals to beat the Normady Invaders. Editor's Note: Thanks to Solon soccer parent Steve Rothenberg, who provided photos and a game recap. The Solon High boys soccer team ran their record to 2-1 Saturday night as they easily beat Nordonia 2-0. Orlando Cumberlander provided the finishing touches on the offense for Solon as he netted two first half goals for all the scoring of the evening. The defense was led by Foster King, Alec Krienen, Ryan Adkins, and Matt Schneider as they extinguished almost all scoring opportunities that came on their side of the field. Senior goalie Jacob Altstadt could have texted in his after game dinner order as he only had to make one save for the game. Solon Boys Soccer Shuts Out Cuyahoga Falls

The Comets defeated Cuyahoga Falls 6-0 with a flurry of scoring from a bunch of players.

While Cleveland is well known for their clinics, the Solon High boys soccer team put on a clinic of their own tonight as they humbled Cuyahoga Falls by a score of 6-0. The plan of the game for the Comets was to score early and often. Junior Aram Tosunyan got the scoring going with his first goal 3 minutes into the contest. Before the crowd had a chance to sit back down, Senior Leo Held found the net not 30 seconds later. Aram Then added his second as he went solo and rifled one past the goalie, and 5 minutes later completed his "hat trick" with a third goal of the first half. Junior Scotty Welker then added a spectacular goal of his own when he froze the goalie with some fancy footwork that had the crowd in awe. 20 seconds later, Max …
