Hide Your Valuables: More Cars Broken Into In Solon

Two cars were broken into outside Panera Bread, adding to a long list of similar break-ins in Solon in recent months.

Two cars were broken into outside Panera Bread in Solon, adding to a long list of similar break-ins in Solon in recent months. Solon Police say that the cars were broken into between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on May 10 while their driver's were inside Panera Bread on Kruse Drive. Both cars, a 2006 Volkswagen and a 2003 Honda, had rear passengers window broken and bags stolen, containing calculators, books, a laptop and other items. The total value of the items in the two thefts were about $1,400. Solon Police have investigated a number of similar car break-ins in recent months. Three Cars Broken Into, Belongings Stolen At Grantwood Golf Course

The information in this report is from the Solon Police.

More cars have been broken into in Solon, this time three of them at Grantwood Golf Course. Solon Police have investigated a number of car break-ins in recent months. The break-ins are similar in that they've occured in parking lots in which backseat windows have been smashed out and laptops have bee stolen from the cars. The recent thefts at Grantwood all fit this mold, with the rear windows of a Cadillac CTS, a GMS Acadia and a Honda Pilot were broken into and contents stolen from the cars, including laptops, briefcases, and other items, according to police reports. About $2,600 worth of items were stolen from the cars, according to the police reports. The thefts occured on the evening of May 7, between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Firefighters were called to smoke on the east side of the building about 9:40 a.m. and reported to police that there was someone living there. Officers located a man walking to the area, who admitted to having a fort and cooking. The said he believed he had gotten permission to camp there. Home Invasion Led To School Lockdowns

The arrest on SOM Center Road of a home invasion suspect on May 3 led to two Solon Schools being locked down, according to Solon Police. Arrested and charged with burglary was Airrion Stroud, 19, of Bedford. He was taken to Solon Jail. Burglary is a second-degree felony. The home invasion occured on Ayleshire Drive at about 12:20 p.m. May 3, when a woman who was in the home called 911 to tell police that a man had entered her home. According to the police report, the woman heard the doorbell ring multiple times and then later heard someone enter the garage and shout "Hello?" The woman was in an upstairs bedrooms, so she went out into the hallway, which looked down into the first floor of the house. She saw a man in the home. She went to …

Man Arrested For Stealing Expired Cans Of Red Bull

A 54-year-old Cleveland man was arrested for theft and scavenging after police say he took scrap from Red Bull in Solon. Most of the $500 worth of scrap was expired cans of Red Bull which have been sold at flea markets illegally in the past, according to the police report. The man was pulled over on April 28 near Aurora and Harper roads for an unsecured load of metal in his truck. Police say the man had taken the scrap without permission from Red Bull facility on Carter Street in Solon.

Solon Man Charged With Assaulting Girlfriend at Twinsburg Motel

A 20-year-old Solon man faces assault charges after his 19-year-old girlfriend told Twinsburg Police he assaulted her at a Twinsburg motel. On April 22, the woman called police to say that her boyfriend assaulted her at the Blue Top Motel on Ravenna Road and then fled in her car, according to the police report from the Twinsburg Police. The woman was treated by paramedics for minor injuries. The man was found a short time later at a home on Ravenna Road. He was charged with assault, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Man, Woman Arrested With Bath Salts In Solon

A man and a woman face felony charges after a traffic stop in Solon. The man, Joseph Allen, 31, of Lorain, is charged with felony drug possession after police found suspected bath salts in the car after it was pulled over on April 21 on SOM Center Road, according to a Solon Police report. The woman, Nichole Estremera, of Brunswick, is charged with drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, falsification, and carrying a concealed weapon, accoridng to the report. She was also wanted on a felony warrant out of Medina County. On April 21 during a traffic stop, a police dog alerted for drugs in an SUV. Crafty Scam Nets Thief Cases of Beer A man has hit two Giant Eagle stores in Fairlawn with a scam that allowed him to walk out with multiple cases of free beer. According to the report, the man identified himself to the manager as a Tramonte Distributing employee who had come to inventory the shelves for outdated beer. He went into the cooler and loaded six cases of Miller Lite, plus a six-pack of Miller Lite, into a shopping cart, then wheeled it out to his car and left. Woman Caught With Psychedelic Drug Candies, Faces Felony Charge

An Elyria woman faces a felony drug charge after police found a number of suspected drugs in her possession after a traffic stop, according to Solon Police. Arrested and charged was Ashley Marie Senter, 22, of Elyria. She faces a drug possession charge, which is a fifth-degree felony, according to the police report. A car with two women in it was pulled over on U.S. 422 on April 21. The driver, a 26-year-old North Ridgeville woman, had a suspended license, according to the report. During a search of the car, police found 59 grams of marijuana and 21 individually wrapped chocolate candies that are suspected of containing 2C-1, a psychedelic drug substance. Identity Theft Leads Solon Man To Lose Thousands

The information in this report is from the Solon Police.

A Solon man was a victim of extensive identity fraud that resulted in more than $4,000 being stolen from his bank account, according to Solon Police. The 33-year-old resident told police he was checking his PNC bank statements and realized he was missing $4,360, according to the police report. According to officials at the bank, someone went into a branch in Philadelphia and showed an Ohio driver's license and two credit cards with the Solon man's name and identity on them. The case is under investigation.
