Gold Antique Clock Burglarized From Solon Home

A Solon woman returned to her Miles Road home after she had been away for a month to find her house broken into and an expensive antique clock stolen, according to Solon Police. The Antique French Ormolu clock, valued at $35,000, was taken from the home sometime between Nov. 2 and Dec. 2, when the woman returned, according to police. "Ormolu" is an 18th ceuntry term describing the technique of applying finely ground, high-carat gold to a bronze surface. Other items, such as assorted jewelry, were also taken from the home. Police say the burglers liking broke into the home through a basement window, which was found broken. The incident is under investigation.
