'La Traviata' Opening Friday at Solon Center for the Arts

Giuseppe Verdi’s beloved opera, 'La Traviata' will open at Solon Center for the Arts this Friday.

Giuseppe Verdi’s beloved opera "La Traviata" will open at Solon Center for the Arts this Friday. The opera will begin at 7:30 p.m. It will also run at 3 p.m. Sunday and at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 6. SCA’s production receives public support with local tax dollars from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, to preserve and enrich our region’s artistic and cultural heritage. The show stars Northeast Ohio’s brightest and best talents including Marian Vogel as Violetta Valéry, Timothy M.R. Culver as Alredo Germont, Brian Keith Johnson as Giorgio Germont and Kimberly Lauritsen as Flora Bervoix. Solon Arts Center, Italian Club Unite to Celebrate Heritage, Opera

"Italian Heritage Night at the Opera" at the Solon Center for the Arts will feature a performance of "Madama Butterfly" and an photography gallery show depicting Italian immigrants in America.

Is there anything more authentically Italian than opera? The Solon Italian Club doesn't think so. That's why the group is celebrating Italian Heritage Month by allying with the Solon Center for the Arts to present an "Italian Heritage Night at the Opera" on Oct. 8 at the SCA. The night will feature a performance of the famed Italian opera "Madama Butterfly," staring Marian Vogel as Cio-Cio San. There will also be a wine and cheese party and preview with Stage Director Johnathon Field 45 minutes before the show. Tickets for the show are $25. The wine and cheese party costs an additional $15.
