Final release of state of Ohio Report Cards for 2011-12 confirms that Solon students are achieving at the highest levels in Northeast Ohio. With a Performance Index Score of 111.2, the Solon Schools had the top achievement score among public school districts in Northeast Ohio and the third highest in the state. Solon also received the state’s "Excellent with Distinction" rating. State report card data is typically released in August each year, but was delayed this year due to a statewide audit of attendance reporting in Ohio school districts. The audit findings were reported in late February and the Ohio Department of Education subsequently released the final report card data. Ohio released more preliminary school report card data, and it's good news for Solon parents and students.
Solon Schools received the highest performance index score of any public school district in Northeast Ohio, and the third best score in the state, according to more preliminary report card data released by the state. Solon's performance index for the 2011-2012 school year was 111.2. The school district received the mark of excellent with distinction and met adequate yearly progress, according to the data. There are 610 public school districts in Ohio, and all of them received a performance index score, which is based on how well all students do on the tests. Traditional state report cards for local school districts have been delayed, but the Ohio Department of Education today released some preliminary data to give the public an idea of how their local school district performed last year. As expected, Solon Schools continue to excel. Here’s a look at how Solon schools performed: Elementary and Middle School Scores (out of 100) High School Scores (out of 100) Now, some caveats: The information does not include an overall rating, such as “excellent” or “effective,” that the public is used to seeing. Rep. Marlene Anielski presented awards to Solon school leaders during Friday's football game for receiving "Excellent" ratings on the state report cards.
Ohio Rep. Marlene Anielski visited Stewart Field Friday to honor Solon Schools for continued excellence. During Friday's football game against Strongsville, Anielski presented commendations for all seven Solon schools recognizing them for their "Excellent" rating on the Ohio Report Cards. Solon did great in the annual school report cards, but how did they compare to other districts in the area?
When the Ohio Department of Education released the 2010-11 state report cards Wednesday, Solon City Schools had a lot to cheer about. Solon received the "Excellent" designation and had a whopping 110.7 performance score, higher than last year's. The district met all 26 of the state indicators, which are based on student performance on math, reading, science and graduation tests. But how do they stack up against other area schools? Solon Patch has mined the Ohio Report Card data to give you the most important data from the 2010-2011 school year
Report cards for Ohio's more than 600 school districts were released today, and a closer look at the data shows that Solon rises to the top of the rankings in all categories. Solon Patch has already reported the basic results from the report card, which shows that Solon City Schools received an "Excellent" rating and met 26 of 26 performance indicators, which are based on student performance on math, reading, science and graduation tests. Each individual school – Arthur Road, Lewis, Roxbury, Parkside, Orchard Middle, Solon Middle and Solon High – also received "Excellent" ratings. Kids across Solon strapped on their backpacks, boarded the bus and headed off to begin another school year
Another school year began in Solon today. If the unloading of the buses at Parkside Elementary is any indication, Solon students are eager to learn.
