In the wake of the Newtown school shooting, school officials say their new phone system would help manage a crisis in Solon Schools.

Solon Schools has a new phone system, and some of the features will help the schools act more efficiently in the event of a crisis. And that's important, especially in the wake of last Friday's school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. The new phone system will be online today. In a message posted Friday on the Solon Schools website, officials discussed the new phone system and responded to the tragedy on Connecticut. Tragedy in Newtown: 27 Dead in Elementary School Shooting

Officials in Newtown, CT, say they're trying to reunite parents with their children in the wake of a shocking multiple shooting at an elementary school in the town’s Sandy Hook neighborhood. First Selectman Pat Llodra told Patch that there is no information being released about the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting — only confirming that there was a shooting. "I'm horrified, saddened and shocked that this happened in Newtown," Llodra said. "Our priorities right now are making sure everyone safe and reuniting parents with their children."
