Menchie's Opening In Solon Village This Weekend

The frozen yogurt chain announced on Twitter the new store in Solon opens Saturday.

Menchie's is holding its grand opening at Solon Village this weekend. The frozen yogurt store announced the grand opening of its new location on Twitter. The event will feature gift bags for the first 20 customers, regular raffle drawings for Menchie's gift card. The store will be making free balloon animals and handing out free T-shirts from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. both days. Learn more about Menchie's at the company's website. Other businesses have also re-opened at Solon Village. The Soup Pot, which remained in the same location, recently had a grand opening for its remodeled store. Solon Village Update: Businesses Prepare to Move In; Chicago Deli Moves

The opening of Starbucks, Menchies and more businesses is getting closer.

The new building at Solon Village will soon be opened for its new tenants to start prepping for their grand openings. Planning Director Rob Frankland said that developer Echo Solon expects to open the building for its tenants -- including Starbucks, Menchie's and others -- on Oct. 1. It's unclear right now when the businesses will open, but we'll report that information as soon as we can. Frankland said the city has received sign applications from Starbucks, Menchies, UPS and GNC. He expects to receive more applications in the coming weeks. Starbucks will be located in the northern end of the new building, and will have a drive thru. Starbucks, Menchie's May Be Coming to Solon

Starbucks, Menchie's and GNC are slated to open in a new 12,000 square foot retail space being built at Solar Center.

Starbucks may be coming to Solon. Same with Menchie's, the popular frozen yogurt chain. Construction plans submitted to the Solon planning department show that Starbucks and Menchie's are proposed tenants in the redesigned Solar Center Shopping Plaza, which is about to be redeveloped by Echo Solon. The plaza at the intersection of SOM Center and Aurora roads will also include a new, freestanding Giant Eagle. Starbucks and Menchie's -- along with GNC and Cole Optical -- would be part of a new 12,000- square-foot retail space that Echo will build at the plaza, according to construction elevation drawings submitted to Solon's planning department.
