The Lady Comets improved to 2-0 Wednesday night with a big win over visiting Mayfield, 79-31. Solon (2-0) was led in scoring by Martha Thompson with 24 points, Kristen Confroy with 19 points, and Jordan Bekelja with 10 points. The JV team earned its first win of the season, defeating Mayfield 40-39. Chelbi Graham paced the Comets with 13 points. The Lady Comets will open up Northeast Ohio Conference play on Dec. 8 at Shaker Heights. Congratulations Comets!

The Lady Comets defeated St. Vincent St. Mary behind 24 points from Martha Thompson.
The Solon Lady Comets kicked off a promising 2012-13 season with a 59-51 win at St. Vincent- St. Mary. The Comets (1-0) got off to a fast start and never trailed in the game. The Comets were led in scoring by Martha Thompson with 24 points and Jordan Bekelja with 17 points. The Comets open up their home season with a game Wednesday against Mayfield. JVs tip off at 6 p.m. and the varsity game is at 7:30 p.m.

Solon Comet runners performed well at the state meet in Hebron last weekend.
The Solon Comets performed well at the state cross country meet last weekend in Hebron, led by a 9th place finish from standout runner Therese Haiss. The boys team and three Lady Comets runners qualified for the meet. The boys team finished 11th overall, with a team-best 16th place finish from Kevin Blank. Also representing the boys team was Dan Arters, Grant Behnke, Kevin Burns, Jacob Pearlman, John Riordan and Kyle Singerman. Besides Haiss, the two other Lady Comet runners, Geneva Sandridge and Louiza Wise, finished 42nd and 58th, respectively. Congrats on great performances, Comets!

The Lady Comets fell to Strongsville in the regional championship game to end their playoff run.
The Solon Lady Comets soccer team's great season came to an end Saturday with a loss to Strongsville in the regional championship match. The Comets lost 4-1. Strongsville advances to the final four. Ariana Daukss scored Solon's lone goal. The Comets finished their greatest season ever with a 18-3 record. Congratulations on a great season!

The Lady Comets take on the defending state champion Strongsville Mustangs at 3 p.m. today at Rocky River High School in the Regional Championship match. The winner heads to the Division I final four. There are no pre-sale tickets for game and all tickets will be sold at the gate for $6. The 18-2 Comets defeated Massillon Jackson 2-0 in the semi-final game on Thursday night for a chance to play the Mustangs, who defeated Mentor 1-0 and hold a 19-1 record. Good luck Comets!

Solon girls soccer defeated Massillon Jackson 2-0 on Thursday to advance to the Regional Championship match. The Comets will play Strongsville on Saturday. The game will be played at 3 p.m. in Rocky River.

The Solon Lady Comet Soccer Team is heading to the Regional Championship game. The Comets defeated Massillon Jackson 2-0 on Thursday behind goals by Maria Collica and Mika Williams. Goalie Kristen Confroy preserved the shutout. Collica opened the scoring with a goal at the 21 minute and Williams cushioned the lead in the 65th minute. Solon, now 18-2, will play Strongsville in Rocky River. That game is set to begin at 3 p.m. Saturday. The Comets are one of the eight Division 1 teams remaining in the state. If they win on Saturday, they make it to the final four and a chance to play in the championship game at Columbus Crew Stadium on Nov. 9. Congratulations Comets. Good luck!

The Lady Comets soccer team continues its postseason run at 6 p.m. tonight when the team plays Massillon Jackson in Twinsburg.
The Solon High School Lady Comets soccer team hopes to continue its magical playoff run with a victory tonight against Massillon Jackson in the regional semi-final game. The Comets are fresh off their first District Title in team history after defeating Hudson 1-0. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m. tonight at Twinsburg High School. There are no pre-sale tickets, but they can be purchased at the gate for $6. If the Comets win, they will play the winner of the Strongsville-Mentor contest in the Regional Championship game on Saturday.

The Solon Lady Comets are District Champions for the first time in school history! The team defeated Hudson 1 – 0 at Stewart field on Saturday afternoon. The team moves on to play Massillon Jackson on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Twinsburg in the Regional Semi-Final game. Go Comets!!

The second-seeded Comets volleyball team plays top-seeded Kenston this afternoon at Solon High School.
Solon Volleyball's great season continues Saturday with a district final matchup against Kenston. The Comets are 20-4 on the season and just defeated Brecksville-Broadview Heights in straight sets to advance to the district final. The game will be played at 2:30 p.m. today, Oct. 27, in the Solon High School gym. Solon is the second seed and Kenston is the top seed in the district. Good luck Comets!
