UPDATE: Power Restored in Solon

At least 500 people still without power in Solon after last night's heavy winds.

9:32 A.M. WEDNESDAY UPDATE: All power has been restored to Solon. First Energy's outage map shows no outages in Solon as of 9:11 a.m. If your power goes out, call First Energy at 1-888-LIGHTSS. ------ At least 500 Solon customers remain without power after last night's heavy winds, according to First Energy. Bill Snyder with Progress Energy told Solon officials Tuesday night that crews were working on restoring power and they hoped to have it restored by last night or this morning. To report an outage, call First Energy at 1-888-LIGHTSS. Last night, heavy winds blowing a cold front into the area left as many as 1,000 Solon residents without power. High Wind Causing Power Outages in Solon

Winds may reach 25 to 35 miles per hour, with gusts up to 55 miles per hour.

A wind advisory is in effect until midnight in Northeast Ohio, including Solon. First Energy is estimating that 501 to 2,000 customers could be without power in Solon, according to the company's outage map. The National Weather Service forecasts sustained winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts reaching 55 miles per hour in Northeast Ohio. The forecast calls for winds of 25 to 28 miles per hour, up to gusts of 41 miles per hour in Solon. The winds are part of a cold front moving through the area that will whisk away our mild weather and bring in colder temperatures.
