86-Year-Old Man Cited For Illegaly Carrying Concealed Weapon

An 86-year-old man was cited for illegally carrying a concealed weapon after police got a tip that he was going to have an armed confrontation with another man over a business feud. Police went to a home on Country View Lane after someone called March 12 to say that a homeowner and a business partner were having an argument over selecting a realtor for the home, and that both men were armed and heading to the home for a confrontation. The police arrived to find the homeowner, an 86-year-old man, standing outside the home with a cane. The old man also wore a loaded and holstered .38-caliber revolver on his hip. The man did not have a permit to carry the gun so he was issued a summons to Bedford Court for carrying the weapon illegally. The …

Gunshot Fired Into Solon Home's Living Room

Solon Police are investigating a gunshot that sent a bullet through the living room window of a Solon home.

Someone fired a bullet through the living room window of a home on Meadow Lane in Solon, according to Solon Police. A 61-year-old homeowner told police that she awoke the morning of Dec. 14 and noticed glass on the floor of her home. She investigated and found a circular hole through the window, according to a Solon police report. A bullet was later found lodged in the window frame of another window in the house, on the other side of the room. Suspects have been identified, but police are still investigating.

Fight Over Gun Leads To Domestic Violence Arrest

A Solon man was arrested and charged with domestic violence after police say he struck his girlfriend during an argument over a handgun. According to Solon Police, the victim, a 35-year-old woman, was cleaning the residence on SOM Center Road she shared with her boyfriend when she found a handgun. She asked her boyfriend about it, and he became angry. Eventually, he took the gun back and left, but not before striking the woman across the face and saying "We'll see what's going to happen now," according to Solon Police. The man, 41, was arrested and charged on Nov. 1. He is being held without bail at the Solon jail.
