A 39-year-old East Cleveland man was arrested and charged with drunken driving after he crashed his van into a utility pole on Aurora Road on April 5, according to Solon Police. That crash, in which no one was injured, has snarled traffic near the 32000 block of Aurora Road for days and caused some power outages. A witness said he saw the white van crash into the poll. Officers gave the driver a sobriety test, which he failed. He also failed to provide a valid breath test. The man was taken to Solon jail on a drunken driving charge. The man also has another pending drunken driving charge from a traffic stop in January.

A 47-year-old Solon man was arrested after another driver said he threatened to shoot him while driving in Solon. On March 18 at about 9 p.m., a man called Solon police to say that while he was waiting at a traffic light at the Harper and Bainbridge roads intersection another diver threatened to shoot him. Police found the other driver and pulled him over. He appeared intoxicated, so was arrested and taken to Solon Jail. The man submitted to a breath test and registered a .207 blood-alcohol level, over the legal limit of .08. Police found a bottle of liquor and two knives in the car as well. The man now faces charges of menacing, drunken driving, carrying concealed weapons and driving with an open container.

Four hours into his birthday celebration, a 23-year-old Oakwood Village man was arrested and charged with drunken driving and drug abuse in Solon, according to a Solon Police report. The man was pulled over on U.S. 422 near Harper Road after police received a report of an erratic driver on Jan. at about 4 a.m. A police officer spotted the car in a gas station parking lot and observed erratic driving. After the traffic stop, the man told the officer he had a few shots to celebrate his birthday, which was that same day. He also had a small amount of marijuana in his possession, according to police. The man blew a .154 on the breathalyzer test, over the legal limit of .08.

A 34-year-old Solon man was arrested and charged with drunken driving after police say he caused a head-on collision that injured a woman and an 11-year-old boy. Arrested and charged with drunken driving was Dino Rinaldi, 34, of Solon, according to a Solon Police report. He was also cited for improper passing. On Jan. 4, police say Rinaldi was driving north on Harper Road and attempted to pass a car in front of him. Another car was driving south, and the two cars collided head-on, according to the report. A 36-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy were transported to Ahuja Medical Center. The police report says that the woman's injuries were incapacitating, while the boy's injuries were not incapacitating. Rinaldi refused a breathalyzer …

Judge Peter J. Corrigan was found guilty of drunken driving after he pleaded no contest in court today.
Cuyahoga County Judge Peter J. Corrigan was found guilty of drunken driving Friday after pleading no contest, reports the Plain Dealer. Corrigan is the judge handling the wrongful termination suit by former Solon mayor's secretary Sally Deitrick against Mayor Susan Drucker, according to court records. A judge in Rocky River Municipal Court sentenced Corrigan to three days in jail - which will be served in an education program, fined him $500 and suspended his driver's license for 2013, though he will have work driving priveleges, the newspaper reports. Corrigan was arrested at about 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 17 after Cleveland Metroparks rangers in Rocky River found him asleep in his car with the engine running.

A Twinsburg woman was arrested and charged with drunken driving after she crashed her car into a traffic pole in Solon, according to Solon Police. A 47-year-old Twinsburg woman was charged on Dec. 22 with drunken driving and failure to control after her car struck a traffic pole at the intersection of Solon and Aurora roads in Solon, according to a police report. The woman said she had just left a work holiday part at Freeway Lanes in Solon, and she was stumbling around and slurring her speech after the crash, according to the report. She registered a .162 on the breathalyzer test, above the legal limit of .08, according to police.
