Dino's of Solon is closing after only 16 months of business, according to Dino's partner John Tibaldi.

Dino's of Solon is closing after 16 months. The restaurant, which moved into a building on SOM Center Road, will have its last day on Oct. 20. The restaurant will remain open for dinner this week. In an email to business and city leaders, Dino's co-owner John Tibaldi explained why the decision was made to close: Due to deteriorating sales and high expenses, my partners and I have made the difficult decision to close down Dino’s of Solon.  Despite our efforts, we were unable to make this side project – which we all felt very passionate about – work.  We gave it a shot but fell short – no regrets.  (well perhaps a few) ... Man Defies Solon Police, Urinates in Parking Lot

A drunk man kicked out of Dino's of Solon on Dec. 30 apparently really had to go. The 31-year-old Burton man asked Solon Police officers -- who were called to the restaurant to escort him out after they complained about his belligerent behavior -- if he could urinate in the parking lots. The officers, who were waiting for the man's friend to pick him up, said no. According to a police report, the man kept asking the officers if he could use the parkng lot to relieve himself. The answer remained no. So when his ride showed up the man went to get into the car, but stopped suddenly and began urinating in the parking lot. Instead of climbing into his friend's car, he was put in the back of a police cruiser. The man was arrested and charged …

New to Solon, But Dino's Has Been Serving Italian Fare for Decades

Here are five things you need to know in Solon today

Here are five things you need to know today: 1. New Restaurant Opening This Summer: You may have noticed that someone has been hard at work at the SOM Center Road location previously held by the Blue Fig. That someone is Dino's of Solon, an Italian restaurant set to open this summer.
