Trombonist with the Stars Inspires Solon Music Students
Andy Martin, who performs tonight at Solon High School with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, gave students some advice on pursuing a musical career.
These days, Andy Martin is one of the best trombone players around. He plays on "Dancing with the Stars." His trombone can be heard on television and movies ranging from "Family Guy" to "Planet of the Apes" to "Monsters Inc." But years ago, he was just a student with a love for music, playing in his high school band and wondering what he was going to do with his life. Martin will be performing at 7 p.m. tonight with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra at the high school. He will also do a number with the high school jazz band. But during the school day, Martin spent some time rehearsing with the jazz band and answering questions from music students at Solon High School.
