The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is offering free admission this Thanksgiving
A new holiday question must be asked this year: To eat the turkey or see one live? The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is offering free admission to the zoo and rainforest this Thursday, Nov. 24. The zoo will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It should be a fun event for the whole family as visitors will see animals enjoy special holiday treats throughout the day. Animal enrichment demonstrations also will be planned for the festivities. A full schedule of Thanksgiving at the zoo activities can be found online at clemetzoo.com. If you can't make it this Thanksgiving, from Nov. 1 through March 31, 2012, admission is discounted to $8 per person, $5 for kids ages 2-11 and is free for children younger than two and zoo members. The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is presenting a very special “trunk show” to kick off its summer with the grand opening of its new African Elephant Crossing on May 5. During the past two years of construction, Cleveland’s three female elephants have been temporarily housed at the Columbus Zoo, and there are two new additions to the herd.
