The Erie County Coronor's Office confirmed today that the remains found in June are those of missing Solon man Charles Kaplan, reports the Plain Dealer.
A partial skeleton found near Cedar Point have been confirmed as the remains of Solon man Charles Kaplan, who has been missing since his boat overturned last year, reports the Plain Dealer. The Erie County Coroner's Office told the newspaper that the remains were Kaplan. A cause of death is not yet known. Read the full story at the Plain Dealer. The Lucas County Coroner's Office is examining the remains to determine if it is Charles Kaplan, a Solon man missing since October.
SANDUSKY, OH -- A skeleton found earlier this week near Cedar Point amusement park may be the remains of local missing boater Charles Kaplan, reports the Plain Dealer. Pam Holstein was found dead inside the couple's capsized boat.
The story of a Solon couple missing on Lake Erie has come to a tragic end after one person was found dead and the search called off for the other. The body of a Pam Holstein, a 52-year-old Solon woman, was found inside her capsized boat, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. Ohio Department of Natural Resources personnel found Holstein’s body inside the vessel after it was brought ashore Sunday. The search for Charlies Kaplan, 58, also of Solon, was suspended early Monday after the Coast Guard searched for 12 hours, covering more than 120 square miles. The U.S. Coast Guard and other rescue agencies are searching for a Solon couple who went missing in Lake Erie off of Cedar Point.
