Another Solon Car Break-In: Expensive Items Stolen From Car Outside Restaurant

Solon Police are already investigating a number of car break-ins in which computers and briefcases were stolen from cars parked outside Solon restaurants. Now there's been another one. On Nov. 28, a 32-year-old Lakewood man was eating dinner at Akira Hibachi at Uptown Solon on Kruse Drive at about 6 p.m. He came out to his car to find the driver's side window shattered and a bunch of items missing, including his briefcase, which contained a laptop, an Apple device and $750 in cash. More break-ins had occured outside restaurants in November. Two cars were broken into outside Blue Star Tavern on Brainard Road. FBI Investigating Theft of Expensive BMW From Dealership

The information in this report is from the Solon Police.

A car dealership in Solon recently discovered that a BMW worth $92,368.88 was stolen via a shady internet transaction last year. And now the FBI is investigating the theft. According to a Solon Police report, the car was purchased from BMW Cleveland on Kruse Drive in December 2011 over the Internet using a stolen identity. The car was picked up at the dealership by a trucking service. The dealership notified the police department of the theft and the FBI investigation on Oct. 30.

ABC Streets Hit By Thefts: Work Van and Snowblower Stolen

Solon Police believe the recent theft of a work van and snowblower from two different homes in the ABC Streets are connected. Police are searching for a "person of interest" who has numerous arrest warrants on file from neighboring departments for similar crimes. On Feb. 17 at 724 a.m., a 1995 Chevy work van filled with tools and a ladder was stolen from her home on Edgemoor Avenue. Police found a Buick parked on the street nearby. It was still running and the steering column was peeled back. Police learned the car had been reported stolen from Garfield Heights. Witness statements have the van being taken sometime around 6:40 a.m. On nearby Duneden Avenue at 7:36 a.m., a resident told police that someone entered his garage and stole his …

Minivans, One With Love Seat Inside, Stolen in Solon

Two minivans – one with a loveseat inside – were taken from the back lot of Solon's First Auto Choice overnight on July 30, according to a police report. Taken was a 1997 Dodge Caravan worth $3,780 and a 2000 Dodge Caravan worth $3,980. That Caravan also had a loveseat inside valued at $500. A worker from the business reported that the vans went missing sometime between 6 p.m. July 30 and 9 a.m. Aug. 1. First Auto Choice is located at 27000 Richmond Road.
