Burntwood Tavern, a new restaurant in Solon, is opening another location in Brecksville. The restaurant, which has locations in Chagrin Falls, Rocky River and Solon, announced the new Brecksville location on its Facebook page on Friday, saying it will open in November. The Burntwood Tavern opened its Solon location this summer. Owners have been please about how residents have welcomed them to Solon.

Burntwood Tavern Owner Bret Adams says Solon has welcomed his restaurant to town with open arms.
Bret Adam didn't mince words: Solon hasn't always had a reputation for supporting local businesses. But that was then. Now Adams' restaurant, Burntwood Tavern, has a new location in Solon, and he coudn't be more impressed with how Solon residents have welcomed them to town. "We've been blessed because Solon has been so welcoming to us," said Adams, who added that residents keep coming up to him and thanking him for opening in Solon. Teams of workers have been busy for the last few weeks transforming the old Max & Erma's at the corner of Kruse Drive and Solon Road into Burntwood's signature look. Updates to the building exterior include timber framing, a galvanized metal roof with a matte finish, lantern-style light fixtures a barnwood door, a new cupola and repainted trim. The restaurant also requested a liquor license from city council, which was also approved. Teams of workers have been busy transforming the old Max & Erma's at the corner of Kruse Drive and Solon Road into Burntwood's signature look. Plans for Burntwood Tavern, which plans to open in the old Max & Erma's building, was approved Monday by the Solon City Council. Burntwood Tavern, which has locations in Chagrin Falls and Rocky River, is looking to open at the now-vacant building on the northwest corner of Solon Road and Kruse Drive, according to Solon Planning Department documents. City Council voted unanimously to approve variances that will allow the building owner, George Simon, to update the building for Burntwood Tavern, including stylish updates to the building's exterior, a covered patio and an additional driveway on Solon Road. The Solon Planning Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. tonight to consider plans for a new restaurant in Solon.
The Solon Planning Commission will meet tonight to begin discussions about a new restaurant planning to open in Solon. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. The Burntwood Tavern is hoping to open where Max & Erma's used to be. But the restaurant will need a few variances before it can open. Also on the agenda is continuing discussions of a proposed subdivision at Neptune Drive. Some neighbors are opposing plans for the subdivision. A new restaurant may be coming to Solon at the old Max & Erma's location. Burntwood Tavern, which has locations in Chagrin Falls and Rocky River, is looking to open at the now-vacant building on the northwest corner of Solon Road and Kruse Drive, according to Solon Planning Department documents. The building owner, George Simon, is seeking approval from the Solon City Council for an extra driveway to the property, improvements to the building facade and landscaping and the construction of a covered patio. The planning commission will have its first hearing on the project on March 13.
