Fans still headed to Cleveland theaters to see "The Dark Knight Rises" despite the recent shooting in suburban Colorado.
Andrew Bower called his best friend Friday to make sure he was OK. His friend lives in Denver, CO., and he wanted to make sure he wasn’t at the theater in Aurora where a gunman opened fire and killed at least 12 people and injured 58 others. But the tragic event didn’t stop him from seeing The Dark Knight Rises at Capitol Theatre Friday night. “I think it’s an isolated incident. I think it’s a really sad incident,” Bower said. Another moviegoer said he’s been waiting to see the movie for more than two years. “So really there’s not much that was going to stop me from coming down here,” said Jimmy Ryan. “You can’t change what you’re going to do just because of something that happened.” Cristian Brooks hadn’t heard what happened, but she said…

The country from presidential candidates to police commissioners to local editors express their sadness
A nation is stunned after a heavily armed man entered a movie theater in Aurora, CO, early Friday and opened fire. He killed at least 12 people and injured 50 others, including a 3-month-old child who was shot. The attack occurred during midnight screenings of the new Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises." The shooter, who police identified as James Holmes, also used a smoke or tear bomb to stun the audience before he started firing. Witnesses described scenes of pandemonium and chaos in the theater. Many in the theater did not realize what was happening even as the gunfire began. Holmes, 24, was arrested soon after the melee. He is in police custody and the FBI says there is no indication that incident is tied to any terrorist groups. The …
The Caped Crusader's latest saga comes to a close with Christopher Nolan's final Batman movie.
The latest Batman series comes to an end today as Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises realeases across the U.S. Friday. This finale of the rebooted Batman trilogy (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) sees Batman (Christian Bale) again fighting to save Gotham City eight years after he captured The Joker and killed Harvey "Two Face" Dent. This time he must face one of the most brutal enemies yet, Bane (Tom Hardy), whose savage tactics will turn the city into ashes. Critics are raving about the finale, some saying it is the best one yet. Ann Hornaday of the Washington Post said: "Most important, does “The Dark Knight Rises” achieve the impossible, which is to bring a cherished cinematic chapter to a close, yet manage to leave fans feeling …

If you're going to take the correction fluid to the Constitution, don't forget to get rid of the First Amendment. You can say what you want when you're dead. Uh oh. Doesn't work so well now, eh? Quite frankly, it's too bad there weren't *MORE* guns in that theater. One CCW holder could have possibly saved many people from being shot. Maybe even ended it with minimal injuries or deaths.   more ›
