Details of March 17 shooting have already been reviewed by the Ohio Attorney General's Office.
The Ohio Attorney General's Office has concluded its investigation of March's police-involved shooting in Solon and the findings will now be reviewed by the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. Prosecutor's Office Spokeswoman Maria Russo said in an email there is no timeline to release the findings. At about 9:45 p.m. on March 17, a police officer pulled over Kevin M. Bailey, 22, of Sylvania Township on Bainbridge Road. According to police, Bailey tried to escape from police and turned down Sunnywood Drive, where his car went over the curb and became damaged. Two police officers pursued, but before they could exit their cruisers, they came under gunfire. The police returned fire, killing Bailey. He was pronounced dead at the scene. One of …

The city of Solon announced on its website swimming hours for the Solon Community Center Indoor Pool and the Municipal Pool at Arthur Road during Memorial Day weekend. The outdoor pool is not yet open this holiday weekend. To see the hours of availability, click on the .pdf attached to this post.
Stellar pitching, late rally propel Comets past Brecksville-Broadview Heights, 6-0.
The Solon Comets softball team has moved one game closer to its goal of the state championship. On Wednesday the girls shut out the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees 6-0, thanks to an amazing pitching performance from Sarah Maxson. Maxson held the Bees to only one hit and walked two in the shutout. Kristen Confroy had her second straight game with a home run to put Solon up two runs in the fourth inning. The bats got going for the Comets in the seventh inning, putting four runs on the board and insuring the victory. Solon moves into the regional semifinals against Mentor, who beat Painesville 3-1. The game is at the University of Akron on Thursday, May 30 at 5 p.m.

A big fifth inning helped the Comets streak by Garfield Heights, 10-3.
The Solon Comets softball team scored seven runs in the fifth inning on their way to beating Garfield Heights in the district semifinals on Tuesday night, 10-3. Solon's Kristen Confroy had a lead off home run to start the game and two doubles to lead the Comets in batting. Sarah Maxson pitched a complete game for Solon, holding Garfield Heights scoreless in the last four innings. The Comets will advance to the district championship game where they will face Brecksville-Broadview Heights, who beat Shaker Heights 10-0 in five innings Tuesday.
