Bonus Programs Helps Schools With No Cost To You!!!

How can you reduce, reuse, recycle AND help your school at the same time??????

Yes, I try to be a smart shopper. I check sales and clip coupons. I save for our family and also save for our school without spending an extra dime. If you've had a child in our local schools or maybe a grandchild here, you no doubt have been asked at some point to collect Box Tops. Well, it's a new world and so many other opportunities have popped up to help your local schools and not spend anything extra.

Box Tops For Education - No doubt the most recognizable of all bonus programs out there. Hundreds of items from Avery office products to cereal, sandwich bags to toilet paper and margarine to fruit juice offer Box Tops. Each one you redeem is good for 10 cents to your school of choice.

Campbell's Labels For Education - This is the second most popular bonus program. Campbell's Labels for Education can be found on a variety of products from Campbell's, Pepperidge Farm, Post, Bic, Dannon, V-8, Swanson, Prego and more.

Tyson A+ - This is a lesser used program. You redeem the flaps on bags and boxes of Tyson chicken products.

Coke Rewards - Now this is a program that your kids might enjoy a big more....for obvious reasons! Coke Rewards codes can be found on the inside of bottle caps and multipack Coke products, Dasani, Minutemaid, Powerade, Nestea, Seagrams and a few others. These codes are entered on the Coke Rewards website and redeemed by your school coordinators.

Giant Eagle Apples for Education - If you link your GE loyalty card with your school, you build up points for redemption by your school. Parkside ELementary code is 2652. There is no cost to the shopper and once you link your card, there is nothing more for you to do. Giant Eagle also has eOffers which link coupons to your card. GE works with Box Tops and offers monthly bonuses to shoppers purchasing products with Box Tops by printing out bonus points on a print out with your register receipt.

Heinen's ABC School Donation Plan - This is another program that is linked to a loyalty card. Like GE, every time you swipe your loyalty card you earn points for whichever school you have assigned to receive these points. Unfortunatley, like Giant Eagle, these programs are underutilized even though they are completely free to the shopper.

Target Take Charge of Education - When you use either your Target Red Charge Card OR your Target check cashing card, the school of your choice is awarded a percentage of your total sale.  Once again....at no cost to the shopper!

My friend Lori Abraham and I co-chair the Bonus Program for Parkside Elementary School PTA. We promote the programs all year long with fliers, newsletter articles, school-wide AlertNow emails and through contest we sponsor throughout the year. Next week, January 17 - 20 we have our BIG contest. We encourage friendly competition between the classes by awarding a pizza party to the class collecting the most overall rewards. We also recognize the top class in each grade with a special snack for their efforts!

If you are collecting these items for someone....GREAT!!! If not, we'd love to have you collect them for our school. If you have any of the above mentioned rewards, labels, codes, etc...we'd happily put them to use by redeeming them for playground equipment, class supplies and more. Just give us a yell!!
