Solon Library Hosts Summer Reading Kickoff Party
Children pack the library to enjoy games, snacks and entertainment
If you heard blaring rock 'n' roll and the laughter of a couple hundred kids Wednesday night, it came from an unlikely source — the library.
hosted its 2012 Summer Reading Kickoff Party, offering the large crowd a festive celebration you don't often associate with books. It featured high school and college bands, a magician, a balloon-toting clown and craft stations.
"It's just a wonderful community celebration," librarian Sally Dyer said. "Having it on the last day of school is even better."
