Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Solon Area

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The Tornado Warning has expired but the Severe Thunderstorm Watch and Flash Flood Warning are in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Eastern Cuyahoga County, including Beachwood, Solon, Mayfield Heights, and Gates Mills, is under a tornado warning until 3 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service reports.

Residents are advised to take cover immediately.

At 2:19 p.m., weather spotters saw a rotating cloud over Bedford, the NWS reports, and a tornado is possible "any moment."

The warning is also in effect for Geauga and Portage Counties.

The National Weather Service has issued a Sever Thunderstorm Watch for much of Ohio, including Cuyahoga County, as a line of storms with high winds and hail moves east.

The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Thunderstorms are expected to continue today and this evening as the storms bring a cold front in. There is a slight chance of "severe damaging wind and hail."

As much as 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall, forecasters said.
