Week 8 Preview: Solon Comets at Twinsburg Tigers, 7 p.m. Tonight

Solon Comets head to their rivals next door to take on the Twinsburg Tigers? Can Solon bounce back from a tough loss? Or will the Tigers make a serious statement?

When the Comets take on the Tigers tonight in Twinsburg, both teams will have a chip on their shoulder. Solon needs to exorcise some bad demons after last week's loss to Mentor. Twinsburg has been beaten handily in this rivalry over the years, but they aim to prove that this year is different.

1. Game Time: 7 p.m. tonight at Twinsburg Tiger Stadium at .

3. Matchup History: For a rivalry, this game has been pretty lopsided over the years. The two teams have played 50 times, and Solon has won 40 of them. Solon is 6-1 on the year and Twinsburg is 5-2. Not only is this a big game between neighboring cities, but its also a big Valley Division game in the Northeast Ohio Conference.

But Twinsburg is a tough team this year with some great players, and Solon is looking to bounce back from a tough loss. Anything can happen.

"Our guys are ready to get back on the winning side of the scoreboard," said Solon Head Coach Jim McQuaide.

4. Players to Watch: For Twinsburg, keep your eye on stellar running back John Barton, who has 25 touchdowns this season. That's right, 25 TDs. Not to mention 892 rushing yards and 23 receptions for another 390 yards.

For Solon, keep your eye on Quarterback Pat Kramer, who threw for three touchdowns last week and is poised for a big game.
