Week 6 Preview: Solon Comets Versus Medina, 7 p.m. Tonight

The high school football season is halfway over. Now the real challenge begins as the Solon Comets head into the , playing the teams from the Valley Division of the Northeast Ohio Conference.

First up: The Medina Battling Bees.

Remember, Solon Patch is your for Comet football news. Here's six things you need to know about tonight's Week 5 matchup.

1. Game Time: 7 p.m. tonight in Medina at Ken Dukes Stadium, 777 E. Union Street in Medina.

2. Matchup History: The Comets and the Bees are very familiar with each other, but the Comets have had the upper hand. They have a 7-1 record against Medina. 

The Bees were a playoff team last year, going 8-2 in the regular season and winning a playoff game. The Comets had their way with the Bees, winning 36-6.

Medina is 2-3 so far this season, but records don't matter in conference play.

"This Medina team is well disciplined and very well coached," said coach Jim McQuaide. "Our biggest priority for this week is to focus on what we are expected to do on Friday night. Beginning on Friday, we have the opportunity to achieve one of our goals for this season in winning another NOC Valley Division Title, and that needs to be our number one priority."

3. Players to Watch: Running Back Khoury Crenshaw is expected to play in his first game since suffering a concussion in . It will be interesting to see what the Comets get from him. Either way, expect George Berry to continue getting touches. He leads Solon with six touchdowns this year.

4. Statistic of the Week: The Comets excel in Week 6. Since 2003, Solon is 8-0 record in games the sixth week of the season. Wins have come against Kenston, Brush, Twinsburg, Lakewood, and Mayfield.
