Two Solon Youths Make Female European Soccer Team

Two young soccer players from Solon are among 16 other teammates from around Northeast Ohio to earn a spot on the Olympic Development Program Europe team.

Two Solon eighth grade students from Solon Middle School went on a 10-day trip March 23 to play soccer games on an Olympic Development Program Europe trip in Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria. 

Noa Mills and Samantha Rich are representing northeast Ohio Soccer on OYSAN ODP Europe team. They join 16 other soccer players on the OYSAN (Ohio Youth Soccer Association North) 2013 ODP (Olympic Development Program) Europe team. 

The eighteen girls along with their coach Tom Turner, director of OYSAN are also did some sightseeing during the trip. The girls team won their first game against a Vienna team by a score of 5-0 and tied the AC Sparta Praha team 2-2.

They also had the opportunity to play in the largest stadium in the world. 

Both Mills and Rich have also represented northeast Ohio on the OYSAN state team that went to the Olympic Development Program regional camp in Illinois for a week last summer during which they competed against other state teams.
