Three Solon Hockey Players Named to White Division All-League Team

Sam Littman, John Hannah and Kyle Peterson all received 2012 White Division All-League Team honors.

Three Solon Comet Hockey players werre recognized by the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League and named to the White Division All-League Team.

Forward Sam Littman and Goalie Kyle Peterson were named to the first team, while Forward John Hannah made the second team. The players were selected by the coaches from the GCHSHL.

Littman was the team's leading scorer, collecting 32 goals and 27 assists in the regular season. Hannah scored 30 goals, 24 assists and had a team-leading 43 plus-minus score.

Peterson collected 510 saves, allowing only 57 goals. He had a save percentage of nearly 90 percent.

The Comets had a 18-5-1 regular season record, and a 1-1 record in the Baron Cup.

Solon still has the state qualifying tournament. The Comets are in the Kent bracket, and play Cleveland Heights at 8 p.m. Friday at the Kent State Ice Arena.

The season marks the final one for Coach Michael Licata, who is moving out of state and won't be back to coach the Comets next year.
