Solon's Brandon Thompson defeated David Bavery of Perry to earn the Mentor district championship today in the 103-pound weight class.

Things didn't go as well for Anthony Collica, Solon's wrestler in the 130-pound class, who finished second. He was pinned in the championship bout against Mike Carlone of Mayfield. 

Solon's Nate Hoff finished third in the heavyweight class.
