Solon Versus Mentor Airing Live on Fox Sports Ohio

Solon Football's Thursday showdown against the Mentor Cardinals will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Ohio.

The game, played at home at 's Stewart Field, is set to begin at 7 p.m.

The game is one of the most highly anticipated of the year. Both Solon and Mentor are highly ranked and boast 6-0 records.

Solon features big-time playmakers and a stiffling defense. Mentor has an outstanding quarterback and a wild, five-receiver offense.

According to a news release from Fox Sports Ohio, the game's announcing crew will feature color analyst Hanford Dixon, who played defensive back for the Cleveland Browns for nine seasons and was named to three Pro Bowls.

He will sit aside Emmy award winner Jeff Phelps, serving as the play-by-play announcer. Phelps is currently the sideline reporter during live Cavaliers game telecasts and also hosted "Cruise-In" this summer, featuring classic car shows throughout Ohio. 

Dionne Miller will serve as sideline reporter. She co-hosts Cavaliers Live and has worked on various network programs including Cavaliers in the Paint.

The telecast of the game will also promote Solon's other sports and activities through interviews with athletic directors, principals and other key faculty. And the halftime show will feature the marching bands from each school.
