Solon Swimmers, Divers Excel At State Meet

Diver Sivan Mills finished fifth and 11 swimmers recieved All-Ohio honors.

The Solon Comet swimmers and divers performed well at the State Meet this weekend.

Four-time state qualifier, Sivan Mills, finished in 5th place at the Division 1 Girls OHSAA State Meet on Thursday.

In swimming, six Solon girls and five boy swimmers earned All-Ohio in 8 events.

Earning All-Ohio honors for the girl's team were: Anna Wong, Aurelia Sweeney, Allison Hoffman, Becca Hoffman, Jessica Jin and Halle Immormino.

Earning all-state recognition for the boys were: Ryan Carson, Christopher Guo, Grant Pinchot, Patrick Tippen and Mark Lippert.

Diver Mills was in second place after both the preliminary and semifinal rounds, but the margin separating the top six divers was razor close. Sivan, scored high marks on her final round dives and finished with a score of 441.15, only 15 points below the state champion.

Sivan ended her high school career on the podium with the other eight medalists and is now moving on to dive in the Ivy League for the University of Pennsylvania.
