Solon Softball Advances to the Regional Semifinal

Stellar pitching, late rally propel Comets past Brecksville-Broadview Heights, 6-0.

The Solon Comets softball team has moved one game closer to its goal of the state championship.

On Wednesday the girls shut out the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees 6-0, thanks to an amazing pitching performance from Sarah Maxson.

Maxson held the Bees to only one hit and walked two in the shutout.

Kristen Confroy had her second straight game with a home run to put Solon up two runs in the fourth inning. The bats got going for the Comets in the seventh inning, putting four runs on the board and insuring the victory.

Solon moves into the regional semifinals against Mentor, who beat Painesville 3-1.

The game is at the University of Akron on Thursday, May 30 at 5 p.m.
