Solon Runners Headed to State Meet
The Solon Boys Cross Country team and a top Lady Comet runner will be competing in the State Championship Meet on Saturday.
The Solon Boys Cross Country team and a top Lady Comet runner will be competing in the State Championship Meet on Saturday.
The boys team clinched an invite to the state meet after finishing third in the regional meet last weekend. The top four teams and top 16 individuals make it to the meet.
On the girls side, standout Therese Haiss will also be competing at the state meet after finishing second at the regional meet with a time of 20:01 at Boardman.

In the boys race, finishing for Solon were sophomore Kevin Blank in 13th place in 17:42, followed by junior John Riordan, 23rd (18:02); senior captain Max Haiss, 31st (18:12); sophomore Kevin Burns, 35th (18:18); senior captain Dan Urbanek, 38th (18:21); junior Grant Behnke, 48th (18:32) and junior Eric Hansen, 56th (18:38).
The State meet is at National Trail Raceway in Hebron on Saturday.
