Solon Patch: Your Home for Comet Football Coverage

High school football season is in full swing and in the state of Ohio, and that's a big deal.

In Solon, home of the top-ranked Comets, it's even bigger.

We know that Solon Comets football is important to you – we fully expect Stewart Field to be rocking this fall – and we want to be your source for all the team coverage you need as the Comets seek gridiron glory this season.

Throughout the season, we will have tons of news and information for you to get closer to the team. We've already published our two-part preview, featuring and a look at .

Every week as the season rolls on, we'll also have:

1. Game-day Coverage: Every week, we will be on the sidelines covering the game, whether Solon is home or away, rain or shine. We plan to take tons of pictures and some video along the way. As soon as the game is over, we will have our article summarizing the action posted as soon as possible.

For example, we had our story posted only 30 minutes after the for an opening week win.

The bottom line is that we will get our coverage posted before anyone else.

1A. Social Media Blitz: During the game, we will be tweeting often about the action on the field, so you can follow along even if you can't make it to the field. We'll also provide regular updates on Facebook.

So make sure you follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to stay as up-to-date as possible on the weekly action.

2. Midweek Feature: Every Wednesday, our sports columnist Barry Goodrich will take a closer look at an interesting aspect of the team: A player on the rise, a preview of the week's big game, really anything interesting that comes up during the season.

This week, we wrote about , who worked out with former NFL center LeCharles Bentley in the offseason.

3. Matchup Preview: Every Friday, we'll give you five quick facts about the night's game and Solon's opponent to get you primed for kickoff. Check out our game for an example.

4. Photo Galleries: The coverage won't focus only on the football team. We'll also have plenty of photo galleries and videos of fans enjoying the game, the Solon marching band performing, cheerleaders and much more. We know that so much of high school football is about the atmosphere in the stadium, and we plan to capture that.

5. Your Contributions: Solon Patch is not just about us producing great content. We want your great content, too. Did you take photos at the game? Share them with us and we'll post them on the site. Take pictures at the freshman or JV game? Send them in! Is your kid in the band? Take some pics and email us.
