Solon Hockey Ends Regular Season With 6-2 Win

The Comets took down Benedictine to head into the Baron Cup Tournament with a win.

Solon Hockey finished off the regular season with a 6-2 win over Benedictine on Saturday.

The Comets ended the year with an 18-5-1 record and the White East Division championship.

Sam Littman continued his season-long scoring tear with three goals. Also scoring goals were Mitch Neides, Eric Pohle and Spencer Wien.

Goalie Frank Nagy collected 20 saves and Kyle Peterson grabbed three saves.

Solon will play a semi final Baron Cup game next Friday at 8:00 pm at Brooklyn Ice Rink.

It was senior night and the last home game for Head Coach Michael Licata, who is moving to Florida after the end of this season. In the last seven years, Solon hockey under Licata's leadership won over 120 games, several division championships and a Baron Cup Chamionship.
