Solon Divers Soar At District Meet: Sivan Mills Is Champion

Six Solon divers competed in the Northeast Ohio Division 1 District Meet on Thursday at Cleveland State University.

Six Solon divers competed in the Northeast Ohio Division 1 District Meet on Thursday at Cleveland State University. They ended the day with a district champ, two state qualifiers, three on the medal stand, and five divers in the top ten.

For the Comet Ladies, Senior Sivan Mills was District Champ with 457 points. Junior Chrissy Sharkus also had a great meet finishing in 8th place which put her on the medal stand. She just missed States by 3 points and one place and had her personal best! Sophomore Olivia Kreft made it to the final round and finished in the top ten.

For the boys, freshman Antony Styrt earned a place at the state meet with an seventh place District finish. His teammate junior Mike Moentmann also made it to the final round with his tenth place finish.

Sivan will be competing at States next Thursday, February 21st in the morning, and Antony will compete on Saturday, February 23rd in the afternoon. The competition will take place at Branin Natatorium in Canton. They hope to be joined by many of their swimmer teammates who still have districts ahead of them. The swimmers compete on Saturday, February 17th beginning at noon at Cleveland State University.
