On a perfect sunny summer evening, the boys’ soccer team soundly defeated the Mayfield Wildcats 4-0 on Tuesday.

It started out as “The King Show” as brothers Johnny and Foster King opened the scoring with a goal each.

Johnny’s goal was on a wide open net after he totally fooled the goalie and got around him, and Foster’s was on a beautiful full field run as he picked and weaved his way in between the Mayfield defense.

In the second half, Leo Held added a goal as he shot across his body to bury it in the lower left corner, and Orlando Cumberlander then finished the scoring off with a point blank goal of his own off a corner kick clear that was put back in the box by Solon. The rest of the team including Ethan Dunn, Scotty Welker, Brian Wise, Andy Lemus, Ryan Adkins, Max Sattele, Ardi Khalafi, Alec Krienen, and Aditya Nair controlled the ball for a majority of the game and limited the offense of Mayfield to just a handful of shots. Jacob Altstadt stopped everything that came his way in goal for Solon. Their record now stands at 3-1.
