Solon Boys Soccer Beats Walsh Jesuit 2-0, Wins Sectional Tourney

The Comets took the field with purpose in the second half as senior midfielder Jeremy Seaman broke the tie less than a minute into the second half. They won 2-0 over Walsh Jesuit.

Despite the cold rain and wind, the Comets beat Walsh Jesuit 2-0 to win the Sectional crown. After ending the first half deadlocked at 0-0, the Comets took the field with purpose in the second half and senior midfielder Jeremy Seaman broke the deadlock with less than a minute elapsed in the second half (39:07). Although Walsh came into the match up having scored more than 40 goals on the season, the Comets severely limited scoring chances for the visiting Warriors and preserved Solon goalkeeper Tommy Koenig's 10th shut out of the 2011 season. Solon iced the game late in the second half on a break away goal finished by senior Jay Seetharaman.

Next up for the Comets is a rematch with Hudson in the district semi-finals at 7 p.m. at home on Monday, October 24. As the #1 seed, the Comets keep home field advantage throughout district play. The Comets beat Hudson earlier this season 1-0 in a Northeast Ohio Conference match up.
