Solon Boys Cross Country, Therese Haiss Finish 5th At State Meet

Comet runners have a lot to be proud of after a good showing at the state cross country meet last weekend.

The Solon High boys cross country team and Lady Comet runner Therese Haiss each finished fifth at the Ohio Division I State Meet last weekend at the National Trail Raceway.

Haiss ran a personal best time of 18:18 to earn fifth place, running in the lead pack during the entire race.

Scoring for the boys in the team race were sophomore Kevin Blank in 16:05 with 11 points; senior captain Dan Urbanek (16:25, 26 pts.); senior captain Max Haiss (16:32, 38 points); junior John Riordan (16:35, 41 points); and junior Grant Behnke (16:39, 44 points). Also running were Junior Kevin Burns who finished in 16:55 and junior Eric Hansen finishing in 17:53.
