Lady Comets Golf Advances To District Tournament
A third place finish in sectionals means the Lady Comets golf team will play in the district tournament next week.
The Solon Lady Comets golf team placed third in sections, and the team will now advance to the District Tournament next week in Massillon.
The Comets collected a team score of 367. They were led by junior Alexis Gray with a score of 81, tied for the second-best individual score of the day. Freshamn Rachel Markle was just behind Gray with a score of 89.
Other scores were: Alyssa Gray (92), Shannon Finnerty (105) and Leah Wilson (106).

The District tournament is scheduled for Oct. 9 at The Legends of Massillon course in Massillon, Ohio. Tee times are to-be-announced.
If the team scores well enough in districts, the Comets can advance to the state tournament.
