Coach Jim McQuaide Inducted Into His Hometown's Sports Hall of Fame

Jim McQuaide has had a long and successful career as a high school football coach, leading his hometown to induct him in their sports hall of fame.

McQuaide, the head coach of the since 2003, was recently inducted into the Warren Sports Hall of Fame for his accomplishments. McQuaide played high school football at Warren JFK high school in the 1970s, earning all-league and all-diocese honors as a center.

"This prestigious recognition demonstrates the long-standing respect the athletic and educations communities have for Coach McQuaide," said Solon Superintendent Joe Regano.

"He's a wonderful person and a wonderful coach," Regano added.

McQuaide has had a tremendous run as Solon's head coach. Since 2003, McQuaide has a 86-23 record, including a 46-5 record at home. During that time, the Comets have won six league titles and have eight playoff appearances.

McQuaide began his football coaching career in 1977, and became a head coach in 1989. Before coming to Solon, McQuaide's led football teams for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Louisville, Ohio, St. Edward in Lakewood and LaSalle in Cincinnati.

McQuaide has 162 career wins.
